Sudan Call: June 2025 Basmatie in Omdurman Shelter Centre

With Basmatie’s local team now officially established in Sudan, the donations collected in Belgium finally began to arrive. As soon as the supplies reached the country, our team immediately mobilized to support vulnerable communities.
The first destination was the Omdurman Shelter Centre, a safe place hosting displaced families who were forced to flee from more dangerous areas due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan. There, the volunteers distributed diapers and hygiene essentials donated by Een Hart Voor Vluchtelingen, as well as clothing generously donated by individuals in Belgium. These basic supplies brought immediate relief to families and children and helped ensure that their daily needs were met with dignity and care.
This marks one of the first actions of Basmatie’s on-the-ground humanitarian efforts in Sudan, made possible by the dedication of our local volunteers and the generosity of our supporters in Belgium.
