Sudan Call: May 2025 Basmatie has now a local team in Sudan

Despite challenging conditions and health risks, our founder traveled to Sudan, even to the relatively safer cities. There, he officially established and registered Basmatie vzw Sudan and assembled a dedicated team of 53 volunteers. These volunteers, many facing difficult circumstances themselves, generously contribute their time, energy, and professional expertise to support those in need.
Sudan is currently facing one of the largest humanitarian crises of its kind. The ongoing conflict has affected nearly everyone, leaving many people living in famine and struggling to access the most basic necessities. Countless individuals have no support and cannot provide for themselves, making the presence of a dedicated local team critical.
With the establishment of Basmatie vzw Sudan, the organization now has a strong foundation to respond to urgent needs, coordinate aid, and support vulnerable communities across the region. The local team embodies resilience, solidarity, and hope, showing that even in the most challenging circumstances, meaningful action is possible.
