Sudan Call: Hazar's Story

The devastating effects of the ongoing war in Sudan impact not only adults but also children, who are among the most vulnerable.
Hazar, a five-year-old girl, lost her mother and younger sister during the conflict, and she also lost a leg. Thanks to Basmatie and the generous donations received, Hazar was provided with a wheelchair, giving her greater mobility and independence. Despite this support, she is still unable to play like other children.
Basmatie is currently collaborating with the Industrial Prosthetic Centre in Sudan. The doctors involved are highly skilled and committed, but the process is challenging due to a lack of materials. Hazar has already undergone all necessary examinations, and it has been confirmed that her body is ready to receive a prosthetic leg. This support, however, cannot be provided by Basmatie alone together with donors and partners, more help can reach Hazar and children like her.
Hazar is not the only one she is one of many children facing similar challenges. Basmatie remains committed to supporting these children, providing essential care and hope. With the support of donors and volunteers, meaningful assistance reaches those affected, helping restore dignity and opportunities for children living through conflict.
