Sudan Call: Medication and Medical Supplies

This project was launched in response to the devastating collapse of healthcare services in Sudan. With hospitals destroyed and medical resources scarce, this initiative mobilized volunteers to collect and ship essential medicines, hygiene kits, and mobility aids to those in urgent need.

Led by young volunteers, the project saw overwhelming community support. People from Ghent and Brussels donated medications and medical supplies, while pharmacists, medical students, and healthcare professionals joined efforts to ensure proper sorting, documentation, and packaging. Volunteers meticulously checked expiration dates, categorized supplies, and filled an entire storage space with hygiene essentials, including shower gels, diapers, and menstrual products for women.

In collaboration with Een Hart voor Vluchtelingen and a Netherlands-based humanitarian organization, the team successfully shipped a full container of medical aid. The shipment, currently in transit via Jeddah, is on its way to Sudan, where it will be distributed by a dedicated team of volunteer medical professionals working in Sudanese hospitals.
