Sudan Call: 2 may 2025 Medical Relief & Hospital Support Mission

On 2 May 2025, Basmatie vzw received a generous medical donation from ZAS Augustinus Hospital in Antwerp, marking an important step in addressing the severe healthcare collapse caused by the ongoing war in Sudan. With hospitals across the country destroyed or stripped of essential equipment, patients are fighting for their lives without beds, chairs, basic supplies, or the medical devices they desperately need.
The donation includes dialysis chairs and dialysis machines equipment that can restore dignity, safety, and a real chance at survival for patients who have been receiving treatment on the floor or in makeshift conditions. The shipment is now on its way to Sudan, where medical teams continue to work under unimaginable pressure.
For many families, the healthcare crisis has become just as dangerous as the conflict itself. Yet amid this devastation, Basmatie vzw is working to build a bridge between those who suffer in silence and those who are willing to help. By amplifying the voices of Sudanese patients and mobilizing support from Belgium, Basmatie remains committed to ensuring that lifesaving materials reach the people who need them most.
